Fault code reference
Every fault code we hold, in one place
269 manufacturer error and message codes across 6 brands, transcribed from the makers’ own tables. Type the code the machine is showing and the table tells you what it means and which model it applies to. If it is a code we do not hold, the fault finder on the model page covers the symptoms instead.

Transcribed from manufacturer tables. Codes change with software versions; where a code is listed without a meaning we could not read the source line and have not guessed it.
What do the error codes on my coffee machine mean?
Each manufacturer uses its own scheme, so the letter prefix usually says what kind of fault it is. On Eversys machines an E- code is a stop fault and a W- code is a warning that still lets the machine work. Rancilio use E for hard faults and W for warnings, and Rex-Royal number theirs E1 to E20. Search the exact code in the table above to get the manufacturer's meaning.
Can you tell me what is wrong from the code alone?
Sometimes, and it narrows the visit considerably. A code names the system at fault, not the component: Eversys E-021 names a grinder running endlessly and their own note says it 'may be caused by a defective triac on the power board', which is a different repair from a blocked grinder. Call 0208 037 9340 with the code and the model and we will tell you what it usually turns out to be.
Why are some codes listed without a description?
Because the description on the manufacturer's page was not legible in the copy we hold. We publish the code so the lookup is complete rather than leaving a gap, and we do not invent a meaning for it.
Do these codes cover every coffee machine?
No. This is what the manufacturers have published for the ranges we cover. Traditional machines with electromechanical controls usually have no code display at all, and their faults are diagnosed by behaviour rather than by code. Each machine page says which faults are documented and which are inferred from its design.
Read us the code and we will tell you what it usually means.
A code narrows the visit before we travel, which is often the difference between one call-out and two.
