1. Standalone PSSR Inspection
Use this when the machine has been serviced recently and only the statutory examination and certificate are outstanding. Includes full boiler drain, endoscope inspection, pressure test, the Written Scheme of Examination and a signed report of examination.

Valves are replaced like-for-like at the set pressure stamped on the machine. A generic 1.8 bar valve is the wrong part on a La Spaziale (1.5 bar), an early Conti CC100 or Rocket RE (1.5 bar), a Dalla Corte (1.5 bar), a La Marzocco GS3 (2.5 bar) or a Victoria Arduino Eagle One (3.0 bar). Where the correct valve costs more, the price follows the part — it is quoted before any work starts.

2. Premium Bundled Package — Service + PSSR
The machine is already stripped and drained for the statutory test, so the PSSR adds minimal extra time. That saving is passed back to you, and one visit covers both jobs.
Parts note. Bundles include the consumables listed and no manufacturer annual parts kit. On a traditional machine the listed consumables are the whole parts cost. On Eversys the annual kit alone runs to several hundred pounds, so it is always quoted before fitting — never absorbed into the bundle price.

The small print, in plain English
5. Pricing notes & exclusions
- VAT. All prices exclude VAT, charged at 20% where applicable.
- Travel. Included nationwide. Every PSSR examination and service price already covers the journey, with no mileage loading and no Congestion Charge passed on.
- Parts. Consumables listed as included in each bundle are covered. Safety valves (where replacement is required to pass), steam valve assemblies, elements, boiler shells, solenoids, pumps, control boards, flow meters and grinder burrs are charged additionally.
- Access & utilities. You provide safe access to the machine, a working water supply, drainage and power. Sites without these may be re-booked at no charge the first time.
- Water quality. Where incoming water exceeds 250 ppm hardness we may recommend filtration before certifying; testing is included in every PSSR visit.
- If it does not pass. The attending engineer explains in plain terms what additional work is needed to pass — or, if the machine cannot be certified, why, and what your options are.
- Payment. Invoiced on completion, payable within 14 days. Group accounts are billed monthly on agreed terms. We do not take card payments on site.

How much does a PSSR inspection cost in the UK?
A standalone PSSR examination is £265 + VAT on a 1 or 2 group traditional machine and £295 + VAT on a 3 group machine. A combined service and PSSR bundle is £405, £440 or £500 + VAT for 1, 2 or 3 group machines, and a certified safety valve where one is required to pass the examination is £35 + VAT.
Is there any extra charge for the certification?
No. The Written Scheme of Examination and the report of examination are included in the examination price. There is no separate certification charge on top of the figures shown here.
Is there a call-out or travel charge?
No. Travel is included nationwide in the published prices. Sites outside those areas are quoted in writing before the booking is confirmed, so the figure you agree is the figure you pay.
What happens if the machine cannot be certified?
The attending engineer explains in plain terms what additional work is required to pass, or why the vessel cannot be certified and what the realistic options are. The visit is charged at the published examination rate; there is no separate failure charge, and no obligation to use PSSR.uk for the repair.
How do the multi-site and group discounts work?
A second machine at the same site, or within one mile, is 15% off. A third and fourth machine within the same group is 20% off, and five or more London locations under a group contract unlocks a fixed 20% discount across every site invoice with consolidated monthly invoicing.
Do the prices include VAT, and how do I pay?
All prices exclude VAT, which is charged at 20% where applicable. Invoices are issued on completion and are payable within 14 days; group and trade accounts are billed monthly on agreed terms. We do not take card payments on site.
Why are your prices lower than some London engineers?
Because we publish them. Our routes are planned geographically, we carry the parts that actually fail, and we do not add survey fees or day rates. Our current published rate for a 2 group service and PSSR bundle is £440 + VAT against £445 or more charged by comparable national providers, and a combined visit removes a second call-out.
